Fine Art Description
Last Post. Acrylic on Canvas 5'x5'
This piece was done in commemoration of all our soldiers and their many battles during and after the wars. As my father and grandfather fought in the great wars, WWI, WWII I felt it my honor to relay a portion of their experience as noted by a daughter and granddaughter within the family unit. The honor of "The Last Post" is a ceremony given to the soldier upon his death, it is a service of respect and gratitude for all he has given up for his country. $1400.00

CEREMONY (CLEANSING) THE HEALING
As I enter the room its fragrance soothes my soul
I am safe, warm, and protected
The smiling eyes of one so blessed and gifted
I am content to sit
You give me a feather and in hand my eyes meet yours
You gently place your hand on shoulders torn
And in that moment of song
I weaken with deliverance cloaked
And float on high where buffalo roams
The feather clenched released my pain
And with that moment I collapse into the medicine wheel you stand
There with song you bask from me
And draw the hate and hurt and pride
You take from me replenish I
For eagle perched upon your back
You feed me new and harvest clean
I am drawn down from buffalo skin
And lay with feather upon my chest
Released, with turtle beneath my feet
